Max I Million
Max I Million is a gifted producer and beatmaker from Stockholm, Sweden. He deftly infuses hip-hop with his other favorite genres (jazz, funk, R&B—to name a few) to create instrumentals that are uniquely his own.
Often, you’ll hear multiple layers of samples building upon each other on just a single track, and they’re typically more than just drums or strings he pulled from a dusty LP. While Max certainly finds inspiration digging in the crates and watching films, he also looks to real-life, organic materials to flesh out his music. One track will feature a shaker he created with a glass container and some cereal flakes, and then the next track’s drums will actually be Max himself drumming on an old piano stool with his pencil.
In addition to his innate creativity, he works with emcees who naturally fit his style. Over the years, Max has teamed up with living legends like CL Smooth, Chuck D of Public Enemy, and Blu, as well as underground heroes like Kev Brown and Planet Asia on the aptly titled 2018 album The Lost Bangers. He has also dropped acclaimed albums both as a solo artist (2021’s Uncut Gems, 2023’s Shine On…) and as a collaborator (2020’s Private Barrel Selection with Nocatchphraze).
Max’s talents go beyond the studio, and he has built out a devoted fan base through his energetic live shows.
