Nineteen Ninety Now: ‘94 Source Edition (Classic Black Vinyl) 2XLP
The 15th Anniversary Reissue of Nineteen Ninety Now celebrates the landmark 2010 collaboration between Celph Titled and Buckwild, pairing Celph’s punchline-driven rhymes with Buckwild’s timeless 1990s production. Released via DEMIGODZ Enterprises in partnership with Coalmine Reissues, this special edition pays tribute to the craft and detail of hip-hop’s golden era.
Born from a box of unreleased Buckwild beats from the ’90s, Nineteen Ninety Now bridges eras by combining vintage production with new verses. “Instead of trying to make a record that sounded like the ’90s, we took beats that were made back at that time and made new songs,” says Celph. The result stands as a timeless, one-of-a-kind project that continues to resonate 15 years later.
Created in homage to hip-hop’s golden era, the ‘94 Source Edition reimagines Nineteen Ninety Now through the lens of a mid-’90s rap classic. The front cover captures the look and feel of a coveted 5 Mic feature, while the rear jacket mirrors the layout of a vintage Source magazine, complete with a written foreword by former Source staff writer Soren Baker. Remastered by D-Sane for Digital Age Sound, this edition is pressed on classic black vinyl and housed in a 24pt direct-to-board jacket, limited to 200 copies worldwide. Art direction by the acclaimed Mr. Krum.
This alternate cover edition is an homage to the golden era of hip-hop journalism. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by The Source magazine.
