From static to symphony, Exile sculpts radio waves into a sonic masterclass. More than just an instrumental album, Radio is a concept-driven exploration of media, meaning, and memory. Originally released on February 24, 2009, this pressing marks the album’s first ever vinyl reissue.

Built from snippets of live AM and FM broadcasts, Exile turns the dial into a living archive, flipping talk radio, call-ins, and late night paranoia into the album’s backbone. The voices shape the mood, shifting between humor, dread, and hope as the sequencing moves like a scan across stations. Anchored by Exile’s signature drum swing and soulful chops, each track lands fully formed, with transitions and recurring motifs that keep the world of Radio dialed in.

The tracklist is also expanded with bonus material drawn from Exile’s 2010 companion project, AM/FM, a creative reinterpretation that paired guest vocal features over Radio’s instrumentals. Highlights include “Love Line” featuring Blu, remixes by Knxwledge and Samiyam, and the vocal version of “It’s Coming Down” featuring The Alchemist and Evidence.

This collector’s edition 2XLP is housed in a premium 24pt direct to board jacket with an overhauled layout designed by Frank DeMaria, with remastered audio by D-Sane for Digital Age Sound. Pressed on Static Grey vinyl, this edition is limited to 200 copies worldwide and includes a hand-numbered hype sticker designed by Jelle Smid.

“Exile showcases the breadth and depth of his production styles, crafting beats that evoke the straightforward jazziness of “Below the Heavens” or fiction as a tribute to the last J Dilla, with the hallmark sirens and clipped production style.” -Albumism
